Books Aloud reading sessions
Many Shropshire Council libraries have Books Aloud sessions – an opportunity to unwind, relax and listen to stories and poems read by library staff and volunteers. More information can be found here.

British Blind Sport is a registered charity that provides and promotes opportunities for blind and partially sighted people to access, participate and complete in sport.
British Wireless for the Blind Fund
The British Wireless for the Blind Fund provides provides high quality, easy to use audio equipment which has been specially designed and adapted for listeners living with sight loss.
BWBF offers a range of sets to meet different needs, from a simple digital radio to a wireless internet audio player, with an audible programme guide. Sets are provided on free permanent loan to registered blind or registered partially sighted people who meet the criteria.
Canal Trips
The Lyneal Trust is a registered charity that provides holidays and canal boat trips for people with disabilities with their families, friends or in groups from its base at Lyneal Wharf.
Calibre Audio Library
Calibre Audio Library is a national charity providing a subscription-free service of over 13,000 unabridged audio books for adults and children with sight problems, dyslexia or other disabilities, who cannot read print.
Home Library Service
Both Shropshire Council and Telford & Wrekin Council offer a Home Library Service to anyone who finds it difficult through age, disability or care commitments to use their local library. The service includes large print books and audio books and is free.

Sensory Gardens
Telford Sensory Garden is located within the Town Park’s Chelsea Gardens. The garden has been designed and created by the Friends of Telford Town Park Gardening Group working with professional landscape architect, Teresa Rham. It features raised beds, a herb garden, seating, sculptures and water features and has been designed to enable access for all.
Shifnal Millenium Sensory Garden was officially opened to the public in May 2002. The garden is planted with many varieties of plants, bulbs, shrubs, bushes and trees to give colour, scent, texture and touch throughout the four seasons. The design and layout makes the garden very accessible for all ages with special consideration given to wheelchair users. A woodland walk pathway opened in April 2013. The garden is open every day and is situated in Innage Road, Shifnal, TF11 9AW.
Talking Book service
The RNIB Talking Book service offers access to over 23,000 audio books on either Daisy CD or USB stick.
Talking Newspapers
Local Talking Newspapers provide audio recordings of local news in a variety of formats. There are local Talking Newspapers serving Shropshire, the Oswestry area, and Telford and Wrekin or you can contact the national Talking Newspapers Association.
