Volunteers’ Week: Celebrating the Difference You Make
Thanking the people who help us provide vital support across Shropshire
Volunteers’ Week is a chance to recognise and celebrate the incredible people who give their time to support charities and communities across the UK – and here at Sight Loss Shropshire, we simply couldn’t do what we do without our volunteers.
The Difference Our Volunteers Make

SLS AGM 2025
Our volunteers help shape our services, as well as supporting practical day to day activities
As a small charity, our volunteers play an essential role in helping us deliver vital services and activities for people living with sight loss. From supporting social groups, activities and events, to helping with equipment, administration, fundraising and transport, their time, kindness and commitment make a real difference every day.
Volunteers help people stay connected, build confidence and maintain independence. Often, it’s the friendly conversation, practical support or shared experience that means the most.
By supporting our Living Well with Sight Loss sessions with practical lived-experience insight, testing and delivering pre-loved sight loss equipment across the county, encouraging young people to take part in adventure activities, providing sighted guiding and support at events, and so much more, our volunteers are the lifeblood of our charity and not only play an important role in our day-to-day work, but also help shape and strengthen our services for the future.
Thank You to Our Volunteers
We want to recognise and thank every one of our volunteers, past and present, for the time, care and impact they bring to our work and the difference they make.
