Celebrating our Volunteers

THE HEART OF SIGHT LOSS SHROPSHIRE

As part of Volunteers’ Week (1–7 June), Sight Loss Shropshire is proud to celebrate and recognise the incredible contribution of our dedicated volunteers, whose time, compassion and commitment help improve the lives of people living with sight loss across the county.

Volunteers are at the very heart of our charity. From offering one-to-one tech support and guiding people through the use of accessible devices, to providing a warm welcome at events and supporting our practical services – their impact is both far-reaching and deeply personal. Many also give their time behind the scenes, helping to shape services through committee and board roles.

Together, these efforts help create a more inclusive and understanding community, where people affected by sight loss feel supported, informed, and empowered. Their dedication ensures that people are met with kindness, encouragement, and practical help when they need it most.

Volunteers’ Week is a chance to publicly thank those who so generously give their time to help others – but at Sight Loss Shropshire, their contribution is appreciated every day of the year.

This week, we’re shining a light on just a small selection of our dedicated supporters — with many more giving their time and energy behind the scenes to help make a difference every day.
