Growing Support across Shropshire

As we look back on a busy and successful year, we’re proud of how Sight Loss Shropshire has continued to grow and strengthen the support available to people living with sight loss across Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin.

Working closely with partners, volunteers and our wider community has allowed us to broaden our reach and develop services that make a real difference to daily life.

Throughout 2025, we expanded our work in response to the needs of people adjusting to changes in their vision. From new initiatives to improvements in long-standing services, every step forward has helped us support more individuals and families. We’re carrying this momentum into 2026, with plans to enhance our programmes and deepen our partnerships.

2025 Highlights

  • The See & Hear Exhibition attracted over 80 exhibitors and hundreds of visitors, with a new partnership approach to incorporate dementia support services.

  • Living Well with Sight Loss courses grew, delivered in person to wider parts across the county.

  • We launched our innovative Sight Loss Equipment Rehoming Service.

  • Our Tech Training service continued to provide practical digital advice.

  • Winter’s Day Out welcomed over 200 guests.

  • In an exciting new initiative, delivered in partnership with Telford & Wrekin Council, we expanded our team to create a programme of fun, engaging activities and opportunities for young people living with sight loss.
