Welcome Penny to Sight Loss Shropshire’s Children & Young People’s Service
Inspiring Confidence and Fun for Children and Young Adults
We’re thrilled to welcome Penny to the team, where she will be leading our new service for children and young people.
This exciting initiative, delivered in partnership with Telford & Wrekin Council, aims to create fun, engaging activities and opportunities specifically for young people living with sight loss, helping them build confidence and independence.
Penny brings a wealth of experience and a personal connection to sight loss. With nearly 10 years volunteering with Guide Dogs and chairing her local fundraising group, Penny is passionate about supporting dogs on their journey to becoming life-changing mobility aids. She’s also been actively involved with her local scout group for many years, enjoys crafting to raise funds for charities, and runs a Facebook group supporting a school and baby clinic in The Gambia.
Professionally, Penny spent 11 years working as a primary school HLTA and 1:1 teaching assistant, giving her valuable experience in supporting children and young people.
Penny says: “I am really excited to be working with Sight Loss Shropshire. It’s a wonderful opportunity to create some incredible memories for children and young adults across the county.”
We’re delighted to have Penny on board and can’t wait to see the incredible impact she will have on young people living with sight loss!
