Ruth Houghton Steps Down as Trustee

Ruth Houghton

We recently bid a heartfelt farewell to Ruth Houghton, who has stepped down from our Board of Trustees after many years of dedicated service and unwavering support.

Ruth has been an integral part of Sight Loss Shropshire since she joined our Committee in 2012, bringing her deep commitment to the community and her valuable experience as a Councillor for Bishop’s Castle, championing better services, fairness and opportunity for all.

In 2020, Ruth was elected as Vice-President of Sight Loss Shropshire, a role in which she continued to advocate for those affected by sight loss. Her passion, commitment and generosity have left a lasting impact on our organisation, and her contributions have been instrumental in shaping the future of our charity.

While we will miss Ruth greatly, we remain incredibly grateful for the years she dedicated to our cause. Her legacy of service and compassion will continue to inspire us as we move forward.

On behalf of everyone at Sight Loss Shropshire, we extend our deepest thanks to Ruth for her remarkable contributions and wish her all the best in her future endeavours.
