Sight Loss Shropshire has announced a recent leadership change at the Board level.

After more than 5 years of dedicated service, Diana Flint DL has stepped down as Chair of Trustees.

Diana joined the Committee and subsequently the Board in 2019 and throughout her tenure has played a crucial role in driving the charity’s mission of supporting individuals with sight loss, ensuring access to essential services, and advocating for inclusivity. Her passion, dedication, and generosity have made a lasting impact on our organisation, with her contribution fundamental to shaping the future of our charity.

Diana, a former High Sherriff of Shropshire and current Deputy Lieutenant, will remain on the Board of Trustees and continue her work with and support for Sight Loss Shropshire.

The Committee has elected Arwyn Jones as the new Chair of Trustees. Arwyn has been actively involved with the charity for a number of years and brings a wealth of experience and deep commitment. He formally joined the SLS Committee in 2021 but has been working in the sight loss sector since 2013, as CEO at Beacon Centre until 2019, as a Visionary Board member from 2016 to 2021, and as Chair of Karten Network, an international disability charity, from 2015 to 2023.

Arwyn is set to lead Sight Loss Shropshire into its next phase of growth, focusing on expanding support services, strengthening partnerships, and continuing to empower people living with visual impairments in our community.

We wish to express our extreme gratitude to Diana for her outstanding leadership and warmly welcome Arwyn as he takes up the mantle. The Committee, Board and staff are excited about Sight Loss Shropshire’s future and look forward to continued progress in supporting people with sight loss in our community.
